As a test I performed an HANA Scale Out installation on my test server lshana02 and lshana03. Configured lshana03 as the master system and lshana02 as the slave.
In the setuphana.slmodel.v2 template file I uncommented the <distributedSystem>, <additionalHostsRootUser>, <hosts> and <host> tags. The <host> tag needed to be changed to fit the distributed system setup. I changed it into

After the installation I made a connection in my HANA Studio and the Administration Overview displayed "Distributed System: Yes (2 hosts)".
