Installing using the Software Provisioning Manager 1.0

As of December 2012 the Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) 1.0 is available for SAP installations. ERP on HANA will be using the Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 to perform the installation.
The Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 explained
The Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 is the current SAPINnst including the most recent patches. In the past SAPInst was part of the Installation Master DVD. This DVD was frozen, so the SAPInst needed to be patched before use. The Installation Master DVD was only patched when a Service Release (SR) re-spin was created.
To avoid the problems SAP instroduces the Software Provisioning Manager 1.0. This Software Logistics (SL) Tool is decoupled from the installation and upgrade DVD sets. The SL Tools wil have their own (fast) release cycle. The ultimate goal is that the The Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 will be able to support all SAP products.
