SAP HANA has native functionality for backup and recovery, but sometimes 3rd party backup tools are needed to integrate SAP HANA in the already used backup solution provided by the IT department. For this integration with 3rd party backup and recovery tools SAP provides Backint for SAP HANA.

Currently (14-08-2013) the following tools have already been certified:

• Symantec NetBackup 7.5
• IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Enterprise 6.4
